I was writing a bit in a journal about how I was going to re-commit myself to eating cleansing food and sprouting my own wheat grass and that whole bit of stuff I was doing 5 years ago.   Stuff I was doing when my family was telling me how crazy I was drinking olive oil and lemon juice to pass gall stones.... and now they are blogging about green shakes, foot zoning and what not.  Anyway my point isn't to tell you how ahead of the times I am.
While I was in this deep commitment mode I received a knock on my door, it was a friend I had just talked with about 1/2 hour earlier.  She brought fresh donuts (at my request) in exchange for my lending her Ryan's new deep fryer (some big YW events tomorrow).  And I ate one.

Life is funny this way (or does this stuff just happen to me.)  It brings to mind the story of a girl who before her 30th birthday was planning a trip to Paris, France.  While driving home from a planning party with the hip girls she was going with, she had the music up loud and she was thinking about how good life is, that she was not so old, that the economy wasn't so bad that her husband would loose his job before her trip.  And then she discovered that she isn't so young and lucky to get out of her speeding ticket.  It is good how the earth does these things, keeping us in check the way it does, keeping the evil eye at bay.

I had something in mind to say because I've been to lazy to download pictures from the camera.   But yea I forgot what that bit of something was.  I am reading The Good Earth, I think I am through the worst of it, but it sort of broke my heart a little.  Life continues on.  I had a heart to heart with my chiropractor the other day asking about anger management.  Well he had much to say and much I've heard before, but I like the bit about the tree.  The past is the past and a tree doesn't worry much about the leaves that have fallen new ones are growing.  Still just now I think.. what about those leaves that have fallen nourishing the ground.  either way I have no bits of clarity at the moment but for a good 5 days I feel like I widened my awareness.  Mom and Dad are here so life is excellent.  Elise wakes up every morning,  "where is grandma?" and every time she leaves the room.. "where grandma go?"  They are at the gym now and as she left she put on an excellent pouty face and said "Grandma I'm going to miss you so much."  Also, is there are forward delete on mac cause I am about to toss it out the window. (not really)

Red Tent

Is anyone ready to enter the red tent with me?  I could use some time with sisters and friends.  Amanda your Mazzy Star put me in a rhythm .  I don't think I've listened much to her since HS.  I remember listening to her classic cd and my mom told me that I was wasted.  ( I think she was trying to say that I was wasting my life but I am not sure.. anyway I think their is actually a song called wasted on it.  perhaps I could learn myself how to post it up. )

Sweet Boy

I think a tractor shirt gives a boy that extra boost of confidence lacking in certain men. I wish any of you could be closer to enjoy this boy with me.

Thanksgiving

Well I miss everyone so no need to dwell on that very sad fact.  Is anyone interested in starting a commune where we can all have this big neighborhood and shared park and gardens.. ok I realize this is starting to sound like Waco, but people dream of Utopias cause in theory they are nice, it is when they actually happen that it is a problem.  Anyway, Ryan and I were asked to speak last week in our ward on the topic of thanksgiving and since I spent about 10 days stressing and researching about it and a few of you wanted to have a read I put it up here for you to read.  Of course I cried, but not cause it was sad.. just cause that is what I do I guess.   Thanksgiving Talk

Purple Bike

Elise worked hard for this bike as you can see. I can't remember when we started it, almost 6 months ago I think. Originally she wanted a purple bike so it is called the purple bike, but when we got to the store it became pink...mostly cause I think that is all they had. She has the brakes figured out and thanks to me calls them the "urch." Ryan was so confused, doesn't everyone say that? Anyway we try to ride it as much as possible so we can make this little princess tough and strong.
